A salute to labor! What a great weekend off! I really had the weekend off too, because as I was starting a project in my shop on Saturday morning. A project that was going to take all weekend. My lathe motor died. The lathe was the only piece of equipment I was going to need. So, I spent the weekend truly relaxing.
A lunch on the Sacramento River with my wife was fantastic. As we sat and enjoyed our meal we both marveled at the yacht that was moored on the opposite bank. This boat was 75 feet long if it was a foot. It had it’s own crane for loading and unloading the speed boat that was tied up along side. I was surprised that it was on the river at all, and not somewhere a little more palm lined, but everyone has to be someplace.
I also spent time reading, which lead to time napping. If there was an Olympic medal for napping, I’d only get a silver. My wife would claim the gold, she really has taught me a lot about the fine art of the siesta.
I only hope you had as much fun as we did this weekend. Now get back to work . . . . . .
