Meanwhile, on Saturday there was a search and rescue of a man who got lost in whiteout conditions while crosscountry skiing. Royal says the stormy winter has meant a lot more requests for such help….

Royal says people skiing or hiking in the backcountry should also pay close attention to weather reports and avoid such activity if a storm is forecast.
