Public Information Officer Andrew Trygg says the male skier apparently underestimated the weather, off Donner Summit near Boreal Ridge, Saturday afternoon. A Search and Rescue team was sent out in a snowmobile, but there were lots of natural obstacles to overcome…
Trygg says those people also encountered whiteout conditions and managed to avoid some avalanches before finding the man after midnight, who had no significant ill effects. Trygg says that also includes the 50 or so volunteers involved in the rescue.
