Grass Valley resident Barbara Schmidt Millar died of cancer in 1995 at the age of 42. And Sunday is the 22nd annual Triathlon at Scotts Flat Lake to celebrate her life. Participants can arrive as early as 7 Sunday morning. Kickoff activities begin at 8am. The swim starts at 9, followed by the bicycle competition, and capped off by the run/walk. You can also still register just for that event, for a 30 dollar charge. Also, a reminder that the launch ramp on the Cascade Shores side of the lake will be closed, starting Saturday afternoon at 1, to make way for setup activities.
