Barbara Schmidt Millar Triatlon is a Duathlon this year

The Barbaba Schmitt Millar 21st annual  Celebration of Life Triathlon is happening this Sunday  Sept. 20th in Cascade Shores, along with a separate 5 K walk run. Event Director Nancy Avilla says they have to skip the swim portion of the Triathlon this year because of the drought, and low water levels in Scotts Flat Lake. So, Avilla says  it will be a run, bike, run which is called a Duathlon.

Five minutes after the Duathletes start, they will start the walk runners.

All proceeds from the event go to the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Imaging Center to provide free mammograms for those who otherwise could not afford them. The Celebration of Life Triathlon also offers  scholarships.
