Barbeque Boasting Rights

Two local BBQ favorites were crowned at the United Way Barbeque Cook-off in Grass Valley Thursday evening.
Executive Director, Megan Timpany announces the judges choice.

Second place went to Uptown BBQ, and third place to the Nevada County Food Bank.
Byers may have been the judges favorite, but the people had a different opinion.

Grills were blazing, music was playing, and just before the awards were announced- a special guest joined the SOLS onstage

Country star Lacy J Dalton sat in for the Johnny Cash classic. Dalton is in town for a performance tonight to benefit the family of the late Mike Johnson, a long time local Rotarian.

Thursday’s BBQ Cook-off was a benefit for the Nevada County United Way.
