The two men were at the home in an attempted invasion to steal marijuana there, the sheriff says.

Deputies are looking for suspects Jason Ortiz, 39, of Penn Valley and  Les Scofield, 32, of Ruff and Ready. Call the Nevada County Sheriff’s office at 265-7880 if you have any information on the pair. They’re sought on suspicion of offenses that include burglary and criminal threats.

Both men are said to have been hit hard by the baseball bat the boyfriend used to ward off the alleged attack.
