Bear River High School Agricultural Instructor Tim Reid has a new award to put on his wall. At their Annual Conference held recently in San Luis Obispo, members of the California Agricultural Teachers’ Association (CATA) recognized Reid as the 2014 CATA Outstanding Young Teacher. Reid says all the Ag teachers from Nevada County attended the conference so they were there for the awards ceremony, as well as two special guests.

The Outstanding Young Teacher Award is awarded annually to a member of the Agricultural Education profession who has demonstrated the highest level of professional performance and involvement in their program and community. Reed says his successful formula in teaching is to be involved in all aspects of the three circle model which is the classroom, FFA, and the Supervised Ag Experience portion.
