Bear Spotted in Grass Valley

Grass Valley authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for bears. Police Captain Rex Marks says the sighting of a bear, over the weekend, had officers and sheriff’s deputies searching in the area of Gold Hill and Highway 174. The Captain says it is currently a single report.

Captain Marks says with the sighting being close to Memorial Park people need to be observant. He says there have not been any reported incident with people and the bear. He is urging the public to contact law enforcement if the bear is sighted.

Officers or game wardens still have not located a bear.
