Belden Merges Grass Valley and Miranda

With the recent announcement of the pending acquisition of Grass Valley by Belden to strengthen its broadcast platform, questions have been asked about how it effects the local community. Belden currently owns Miranda which has offices in Grass Valley. According to Miranda President, Marco Lopez, the acquisition will merge Miranda and Grass Valley, and products will be offered under the Grass Valley name, while honoring the deep history of both companies.

The process of bringing the two local offices into one has already begun.

The economic impact on the local economy and personnel will not be known until the acquisition is complete and the merger teams provide reports and recommendations.

Ironically, until the acquisition is complete, Miranda and Grass Valley will still compete in areas where they overlap which Lopez estimates is only about 10-15 % of existing product lines.
