With the recent announcement of the pending acquisition of Grass Valley by Belden to strengthen its broadcast platform, questions have been asked about how it effects the local community. The economic impact on the local economy and personnel will not be known until the acquisition is complete and the merger teams provide reports and recommendations.
Ironically, until the acquisition is complete, Miranda and Grass Valley will still compete in areas where they overlap which Lopez estimates is only about 10-15 % of existing product lines.
