Better Water Service Ahead For Cascade Shores

A major upgrade in water service is on the way for the Cascade Shores subdivision. Close says the new line will allow NID to close the tiny and outdated treatment plant that was built over 40 years ago. The project is also designed to increase system reliability for Cascade Shores, which is subject to delivery limitations when planned or emergency outages occur on the upstream South Yuba Canal. In addition, areas along the new pipeline, both within and outside NID’s existing boundaries, could become eligible for future water service. The district says landowners in the area have expressed interest in obtaining a public water supply.
