Suspected Bicycle Thief Arrested for More in Auburn

A suspect pretending to be a customer rode off with a brand new bicycle from the Bicycle Emporium in Auburn on March 2. The suspect, 32-year old Christopher Waldschmitt of Auburn, used a stolen ID and credit card as a deposit.

Walden--Paul-WilliamDuring the investigation the store manager was able to identify Waldschmidtt through a description and realized he had been to the store on previous occasions. Detectives followed the new leads.

Waldschmitt was taken into custody and booked at Placer County Jail and is currently held without bond.
