Bicyclist Crashes on Ridge Road

A bicycle rider was heading eastbound on Ridge Road, coming down hill on the curve reproaching the Nevada City Highway and Zion intersection yesterday afternoon around 3:45 p.m. when CHP Officer Barnhouse says the cyclist lost control of the bicycle.

18 year old Aran Astesan   of Nevada City was taken by Cal Star to Sutter Roseville Hospital because of the extent of his injuries. The CHP says this accident is a reminder for bicycle riders to maintain a safe speed for conditions and wear a helmet.

I was hit last year. Reflective vest, lights front and back as well as a flashing arm band go with me every time I ride! Of course good judgement goes a long way! Thanks for the reminder!
