Big Brothers Big Sisters Painted Pins Showcase

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nevada County has their signature Bowling for Kids Sake event in March, which is a community bowl-a-thon party to benefit at-risk children in our community. Proceeds from the event support their valuable mentoring programs. Staff member, Lindy Schasiepen  says this year they are putting on a pre-bowling event called the Painted Pin Showcase.

Many local artists found out about the pins and wanted one to decorate. Schasiepen says Bear River High School art teacher, Elizabeth Jens also wanted some bowling pins for her students to decorate….

The Painted Pins showcase for Big Brothers Big Sisters will be this Sunday, January 24th at the Powell House, 203 S. Pine Street in Nevada City. from 2 pm to 4 pm. Besides the painted pin silent auction they will also have light snacks and beverages provided. Some of the local artists participating are Eileen Blodgett, Gayle Granucci, Lori Humphries , Jane Theobald, Janet and Ray Wheeling and Kathy Wronski, and many more.
