Big Sacramento Dog Show at Cal Expo

Cal Expo is going to the dogs.  The Sacramento Kennel Club is holding its annual dog show starting today and running through Sunday.  Show producer Richard Vida says over four-thousand dogs will compete in the show.

Dogs will compete in “Conformation” for Best of Breed and Best of Show which has become popular through televised dog shows like the Westminster Kennel Club Show in New York. A smaller set of dogs will compete in Rally and Obedience competitions this weekend.

Thursday and Friday will be the terrier competition.  The other breeds compete on Saturday and Sunday.
A dog from Nevada County won the coveted Best of Breed for the Entlebucher Mountain Dog class at the Westminster Show earlier this year.
