Blaze in Smartsville burns less than an acre

A fire reported at 3:41 Wednesday afternoon in the Yuba County community of Smartsville burned less than an acre.

Ground crews were able to quickly contain the blaze, but aircraft had taken off from Grass Valley. Capt. Darin Nelson with Cal Fire in Grass Valley says you want to be ready for an air attack on a fire if needed.

No injuries and no structures burned in the vegetation fire.
