BOLO Alert leads to Driver Arrest

Thursday night shortly before 10 pm a citizen called 9-1-1 to report a  driver possibly under the influence swerving in the road.  CHP officer Mike Steele says the call went out  as a Be on the Lookout or BOLO alert.

A CHP Officer in the area spotted the suspect vehicle at Highway 20 near Rex Reservoir and pulled behind it to engage a traffic stop.

The Driver, 36 year old James Williamson of Redding, CA  was taken into custody and a search conducted of his vehicle.

Some items that had been reported stolen were also located inside the vehicle. Officer Steele says Williamson was charged with driving a vehicle under the influence, possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance and receiving known stolen property.
