Bone Identified As Belonging To Missing Hiker

A jawbone found on Christmas eve at Edwards Crossing has now been identified as belonging to a missing hiker. But Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says they won’t likely ever determine exactly what happened to 75-year-old Timothy Hansston, who was from Tulare County…

Hansston had gone for a hike along the South Yuba River, near the town of Washington, last August. Searchers scoured the area for a number of days, including the use of a helicopter, before giving up. Another hiker had found the jawbone.
