BOS Approves Fire Safe Council Funding

The Fire Safe Council of Nevada County will continue to receive its annual allotment from funds flowing through the Board of Supervisors. At Tuesday’s Board Meeting the supervisors approved the $25,918 of funds. Executive Director Joanne Drummond says that the Council relies on those funds to continue operations.

Drummond says that funds are provided through a a grant funded though Secure Rural Schools and Community Act.

The Board of Supervisors priased Joanne Drummond and Fire Prevention Officer Terry McMahan for the work that the Fire Safe Council has done to improve fire safety and emergency preparedness throughout Nevada County.
