As residents of Boston were staying in their homes today (Friday), one of them talked to KNCO about what today and the last few days have been like after the Boston Marathon bombings. Nancy Macchia has lived in Boston for over 20 years, and is a friend of a KNCO employee. She says even four days after the bombings that killed three and injured close to 200, residents just don’t know what to think…
Macchia had to evacuate her mother from the Prudential building, which is right across the street from where the second bomb went off. Macchia says she spent most of the lockdown watching TV, but says in a weird way, the lockdown was a good thing…
On Monday, Macchia was watching the race a few blocks away, when she heard the first blast. It wasn’t very loud from her location but she says she and others knew immediately that something was wrong.
