Break-in Leads to Domestic Violence Arrest

A Nevada City man has been arrested for assaulting the same woman twice. Nevada County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Alicia Milhous says 32 year old Jonathan Eelkema of Nevada City was taken into custody as he was trying to break into a shed on Marjon Drive on August 20th. The Lieutenant says Eelkema had assaulted his former girlfriend on the 19th of August and fled prior to the deputies arriving.

When Eelkema was captured he was taken into custody for suspicion of domestic violence, being on bail and committing a felony and violation of probation. The assault victim in both cases did not need medical treatment.
