Brennan Retires as City Manager

After three years as Nevada City’s part-time City Manager, tonight will be Dave Brennan’s last City Council meeting. Brennan has worked 35 years in local government at the city and county level, and retired in 2009. He was hired as a retiree for what was supposed to be about one year to help get Nevada City’s fiscal house in order. Brennan did help get the city government back to financial stability.

Brennan also credits the community for passing Measure L–the sales tax increase that has funded a full time police chief, fire chief, city manager, and civic improvements. Brennan gives way to Mark Prestwich, who Brennan says it took four months and three rounds of interviews to hire.
