Over 416 pounds of turkey was donated to the Nevada County Food Bank on the afternoon of December 18. The Food Bank will deliver the donated turkeys to homebound clients who can’t get to their food distribution locations. Turkeys were also donated to Divine Spark… they will cook and serve them at their free, largely organic Christmas dinner and gathering on December 25. Along with the nearly 54 pounds of turkey, BriarPatch donated $500 worth of organic vegetables to the event, which typically serves 150 to 250 people, most of whom are homeless or needy.
