Nevada City residents passed Measure L–a three-eighths of a cent sales tax increase to fund specific improvement projects. The Nevada City City Council meets tonight. Prestwich says they’ll set a date for a hearing on the proposed re-opening of a Bed and Breakfast on Spring Street. A special meeting was held last week to hear that issue, but City Attorney Hal DeGraw fell ill…

DeGraw is recuperating. No hearing will be held on the issue tonight, just a date set for a future hearing. Tonight is also the last full meeting with Sally Harris as Mayor. New council member Evans Phelps, and re-elected City Councilman Duane Strawser will be sworn in at the July 23 meeting. At that time, Terri Anderson will become mayor, and the council will-elect a new vice-mayor.
