A reminder as you head into town today that Brunswick Road is closed from Highway 174 to Greenhorn/East Bennett Road so repairs can be made to the part of the highway that gave way during last winter’s rains. The detour is Highway 174 into Grass Valley, but if you need to get over to Brunswick Road, you can cut back through East Bennett. And while it may seem like the county has been waiting awhile to make the repairs, Pack says there is a method to their madness…
Detour signs are posted. The project will include the installation of a 300-foot long French drain on the east side of the roadway. They will also remove approximately 300 feet of roadway fill about eight feet deep, rebuild the failed fill section with new fill, and repave the damaged area.
