It’s the final portion of Grass Valley’s big road paving project of the year. Brunswick Road is getting a new coat of asphalt, with the actual paving work getting underway during the night.
City Senior Civil Engineer Bjorn Jones says the work is being done mostly at night to minimize traffic delays. The city is also coordinating with CalTrans when onramps to the Golden Center Freeway have to be shut down for a short period of time. East Main Street was part of that same project, where the paving is done but the lanes haven’t been striped yet. Jones says it’s easier and more cost effective to have all of the striping done at one time…
Jones says the total cost of the project is just over a million dollars–paid for with voter-approved Measure N funds.
