Now that the project has been funded and a contractor hired, the work to make improvements is actually beginning today.  But Pack says to begin with, most of the work will not be blocking traffic lanes.

The improvements include the use of a special High Friction Surface Treatment pavement surface, a state of the art traffic signal, installation of a northbound right turn lane, roadway widening and new safety lighting and other shoulder, median and drainage improvements. The work is being done by a local contractor Koch and Koch out of Penn Valley.
