Another section of Road in Nevada County is in failure mode thanks to the recent wet weather. Nevada County Principal Civil Engineer, Joshua Pack says Brunswick Road, just south of the Greenhorn East Bennett Street intersection is failing in the southbound lanes.
The pavement started giving way earlier this week. Then from last (Thursday) night to this ( Friday) morning, Pack says the road surface dropped another foot.

Pach says he’s hoping next week if the soil dries out and they don’t see any more movement they could look for some solution but he says at this point they don’t have a specific plan on how to fix the roadway. Brunswick is one of the heaviest traveled corridors in the county. That portion of Brunswick carries somewhere between 12 and 15-thousand cars a day. If they have to close the road it would have a significant impact, but Pack says they are hopeful they won’t have to.
