Burglary Suspect With 6 outstanding Warrants is Taken Into Custody

A residential burglary was reported to Nevada County Sheriff’s Wednesday from a property owner at Oak Drive off of Squirrel Creek. The deputy that took the report found items in the house that lead him to identify the suspect as 39 year old Tristan Appleton who had prior contact with law enforcement. Nevada County Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Smethers says within minutes of a “Be on the lookout” notice being issued for Appleton, another Deputy observed him driving in the Squirrel Creek  area.

The deputy was also aware that Appleton was wanted on several outstanding warrants for his arrest and he attempted to stop the vehicle.

At that point Appleton made a run for it, and the deputy gave chase.

Tristan Appleton was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility of various charges including evading a peace officer,resisting arrest, vehicle theft, burglary and six outstanding warrants for his arrest.
