CalFire Captain John Hotchkiss says the permit requirement will remain in effect until rescinded or the suspension of burning is declared. Burn permits are free, so what’s the point of requiring them?…

You can get them at your local fire station. Hotchkiss warns, though, that you still have to check with the air quality district to see if it is a permissible burn day before lighting those debris piles, even if you have a permit.
