Busy Weekend for Consolidated Fire Agency

Nevada County Consolidated Fire Crews were busy this weekend …Battalion Chief Jerry Funk says Saturday afternoon around 230p.m. a call came in of a vehicle into a ditch in the 17,000 block of Lake Vera/Purdon road. Crews arrived to find a 66 year old male with multiple upper extremity fractures and chest trauma.

The victim  was transported to a helicopter landing zone and flown to Sutter Roseville Trauma Center by Cal Star 3.

Just minutes later, at 2:48 p.m. Consolidated received a call for a fall victim and arrived at the home in the Alta Sierra Area where a 2 year old boy had fallen from a second story window.

The toddler suffered a head injury in the fall and was transported to a  helicopter landing zone that taken to UC Davis Children’s Hospital by Reach 7.

Then Saturday afternoon about 5:12 pm  Consolidated Fire  responded to Wheeler Cross Road for a possible structure fire.  Crews arrived to find an exterior fire on a large detached garage along with a small spot vegetation fire. The fire was contained quickly with minimal property damage. The fire remains under investigation.
