BYLT Grows with Land Donation

The Bear Yuba Land Trust has 35 more acres of land to preserve. Executive Director Marty Coleman says it’s known as the Clover Valley in Alta Sierra,on Brewer road across from Alta Sierra Elementary School. In December, the Bach family-owners of the property since the 1970’s-generously donated the land to the Bear Yuba Land Trust for the purpose of protecting the land from development forever. Coleman says the riparian area of Clover Valley Preserve offers the promise of nature and watershed studies and time outside the classroom for elementary school kids.

Clover Valley could one day provide public recreation trails for neighboring residents in Alta Sierra, with a climb to the ridgeline views.

For the near future Coleman says staff will begin to discover what they have to work with.
