CABPRO Brings In Out-Of-State Fire Expert

A guest from Arizona will be speaking to the Nevada Couny Board of Supervisors tomorrow, talking about fighting fires on federal lands. Doyel Shamley is the Natural Resource Coordinator for Apache County, where the largest wildfire in that state’s history burned in 2011. Shamley was invited by the California Association of Business, Property, and Resource Owners. CABPRO Executive Director Chuck Shea says Shamley took on the U-S Forest Service, which was facing budget issues….

Shea says other counties in California are also being presented with the idea, which Shea calls a winning situation…

Representatives from other rural counties will be attending the presentation, which will be tomorrow afternoon at 1:30, at the Rood Center.
