CALFIRE Warns Of Memorial Day Fire Danger

Memorial Day Weekend is often considered the kickoff to summer activities. Barbequing and camping are two favorite weekend activities.  However both are considered high fire danger activities. CALFIRE spokesman, Daniel Berlant, says weather conditions in Nevada County are increasing fire danger.

According to Berlant, the dry winter and spring have significantly contributed to the high fire danger.

The fires in Southern California serve as reminder at just how hot and quick fires can burn in these conditions.
Extreme caution should be taken this weekend with any activity regarding fire.

Also be sure to have a water source or fire extinguisher nearby to suppress any flames that may get out of hand.
