California Codes Water Conservation Standards

The Nevada County Building Department has completed a brochure, found here, with their policy on Senate Bill 407, water efficient plumbing fixture replacement requirements.  The brochure provides information on how the department will be enforcing the requirements.  Essentially, the department will only be requiring customers to replace their non-efficient plumbing fixtures if the permit that is obtained affects plumbing fixtures in the area of alteration.

Plumbing fixture upgrades will not be required for reroofs, solar, siding, windows, and all other permits where plumbing fixtures are not affected or involved in the permit. Since December, the Building Department has been working with the Nevada County Contractors’ Association to help educate the contractors, design professionals and homeowners regarding their policy and the new senate bill.  If you have any questions or would like more information regarding the new and updated material, contact the Building Department at 530-265-1222 or visit their website at: www.mynevadacounty.com.
