The two largest medical helicopter services in northern California are joining forces. Santa Rosa-based “Reach’ Air Medical Services has announced that it is acquiring CalStar, which operates air transport in Nevada County, and is based at the old McClellan Air Force Base. Reach Vice President of Business Relations and Development Anna Blair says CalStar will still fly under its own name and business model…
Blair says those who will notice the biggest change are those that have CalStar memberships. She says if you ever find yourself in a need for air transport, you’ll be covered in a much wider area…
While CalStar and Reach do have some overlap in some places that they both fly, Blair says they don’t anticipate closing any bases or laying off any employees. The merger is not final and should take a couple of months to complete. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
