CalTrans Halts Hwy 49 construction for Fair

People coming to the Nevada County Fair from South County will not have to worry about road construction on Highway 49 delaying their trip. CalTrans District 3 spokesperson Liza Whitmore says the contractor is making some accommodations for Wednesday through Friday of Fair Week.

Tiechert Construction has the $5 Million dollar project to do a paving overlay on Hwy 49 from Rio Oso near the Bear River to the La Barr Meadows Intersection. then another stretch from the other side of La Barr Meadows to the Highway 20/49 junction in Grass Valley.
The project is scheduled to be completed by September 25th.
