Canal Break Still Hampers NID Water Flows

PG and E has completed  repairs to the South Yuba Canal  after a high wind and snow storm last month caused extensive damage.  But,  NID  Water Operations Manager Chip Close says the canal is still not up to full capacity.

It’s going to take a few more days for NID to re-route the water the way it normally flows and dismantle all of the pumping systems they had rented for the emergency, but NID customers should not be affected.  Close says they will not return the pumps until they are sure all the repairs are holding up, and one more thing.

In the future NID plans to install a permanent pump station near Scotts Flatt Reservoir, and Close says  it will be much quieter.
