Car Overturns Into Bear River

On Sunday morning Placer County deputies were driving north on Highway 49 near Rio Oso Road when they observed cars swerving out of the roadway. When they got closer they could see a compact vehicle upside down in the creek on the east side of Highway 49. Deputies pulled over and ran towards the car. A female driver emerged from the vehicle screaming her baby was still in the car. Deputies and some civilians went into the water to rescue a 12 year old girl. They were able to pull her out of the car and water. She was initially unresponsive. She was rendered first aid and placed in the back of a patrol vehicle until medical staff could get to the accident scene.
