Car Strikes Box Truck on Highway 49

A car struck the side of a box truck on Highway 49 Wednesday morning causing minor injuries but major vehicle damage. CHP Officer Greg Tassone says that the driver a 1999 Chrysler sedan was attempting to pull out onto Highway 49 at Quail Creek Road as the box truck approached in the northbound lanes.

The front end of the sedan struck the side of the box truck midway through the vehicle causing significant damage to both vehicles.

The driver of the box truck was evaluated and treated for his injuries at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Chrysler was not injured.
