It’s a little odd for this time of year, but there are still deer in the woods. The problem is they that don’t know how to safely cross a road. I was cruising to work this morning and as I came around a corner I was greeted by a cloud of smoke. The smoke came from someone’s tires as they came to a screeching halt after clobbering a deer.
Of course there is no way to be forewarned, the deer just bound out of the woods along our highways, into traffic. Sometimes they stand at the side of the road as if waiting for a break in the traffic to safely cross, but sometimes – bang – there they are.
I wish there were a way we could make cars sound like hungry mountain lions, that would probably scare the deer away. But it would also scare me too!
