Carload of Iowans Stopped with Weapons and Drugs

A carload of Iowa residents is spending some time in the Nevada County jail following a traffic stop. A vehicle with Iowa plates heading eastbound on Interstate 80 near the exit for Highway 267 was caught speeding as it passed through Truckee. When the officer stopped the vehicle a strong smell of marijuana was detected as he spoke with the driver. The officer then conducted a probable cause search uncovering a variety of illegal items.

Mann says that the group of four was also in possession of a modified form of the drug Ecstasy.

The four individuals from Iowa, two women ages 18 and 19 and two men ages 23 and 29, were transported to the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility and booked on a variety of charges.
