Carman Gets 36 Years To Life

It’s 36 years to life in prison for a man convicted of attempted murder in Nevada County. District Attorney Cliff Newell says 59-year-old Wiliam “Dale” Carman fired one round into the ground outside his brother’s trailer home, then another shot through the window, hitting his ex-girlfriend, while also threatening to kill both of them and burn down the trailer…

Newell says the probation department had actually recommended 61 years to life. A review of the sentence is scheduled for April 18th, but he doubts there will be any significant changes…

Newell says the incident stemmed from some sort of “love triangle”. Carman was also wounded, when his brother fired back. No charges were filed against the brother.
