More slippage of a slide in Cascade Shores has meant some residents leaving their homes again. Nevada County Principal Civil Engineer, Joshua Pack, says three homeowners living in the area of Pasquale Road and Mountain View Drive have been told that it’s no longer safe to be there. They live above the slide…
Pack says some voluntary evacuations have also been reported. But he had no specific numbers…
In the meantime, Pack says crews can only monitor the situation and it’s uncertain when residents will be able to return to their homes. But he says a break from the rain that’s expected this week will help reduce the saturation of the soil and, hopefully, stabilize the slide enough to lift the evacuations.
