Opponents of a longtime ban on motorcycles in Lake Wildwood have lost their court case. A group of riders was trying to overturn the latest homeowners association vote on the issue, saying the ban violates a recently-passed provision in state legislation that governs such associations. That provision says homeowners associations can’t pass rules that violate state law. One rider, John Lippiatt, says the ban goes against the municipal vehicle code, which doesn’t allow cities and counties to ban state-approved vehicles, such as motorcycles. Lippiatt says he hopes future Small Claims cases involving homeowners associations will be litigated in compliance with the provision. Motorcycles are allowed to be parked outside two Lake Wildwood entrances.
