Nevada County finally has a chance to advance to the moderate coronavirus infection tier, but just two weeks before the tier system is scheduled to end anyway. The case rate has dropped to four-point-eight. It needs to stay below six for one more week for us to be in the Orange Tier that would expand indoor business capacity limits, including at restaurants. It was six-point-one the previous week and 11-point-seven two weeks ago. Then, on June 15th, businesses can reopen, with no capacity limits, and Californians can take off the masks. Nevada County’s positivity rate has dropped to just two-point-four percent. Just eight counties are still in the Red Tier. And half of them, Nevada, Sacramento, San Joaquin, and Solano counties, have a chance to advance next week. But not neighboring Yuba County. Placer County, meanwhile, has now made it to the Orange Tier.
