Celebration of Trails Day 2016

The Bear Yuba Land Trust, Tahoe National Forest and other trails enthusiasts will come together Saturday in a Celebration of Trails Day.

Bear Yuba Land Trust Outreach Coordinator, Laura Petersen says they will start the day with a lineup of morning outings on local trails, Many of the trails are in Nevada City or close to it, but some locations hikers will have to drive to.

Trkac (Track) Running Store will also be hosting a run at 9 am from the Tahoe Forest Headquarters through Nevada City to the Beautiful Deer Creek Tribute trail. Runners will cross over Deer Creek on the Nisenan Tribute suspension bridge. The 5 mile run is rated easy to moderate.
There will also be a wheelchair accessible hike on the Hirschman Trail with FREED and the Sierra Club.

Petersen says that will be followed by a fun family-friendly trails day festival from 11 am to

3 pm at Tahoe National forest headquarters in Nevada City.
