The Center for the Arts is celebrating 15 years in Nevada County Thursday. Executive Director Julie Baker says the non-profit art and performance organization is throwing itself and the community a huge party.
Baker says there will be over a dozen performers, an art gallery, face painting, and food trucks. The Center of the Arts has been drawing local and international artists for years. According to Baker, getting big name artists to come perform in Nevada County takes dedication and hard work, among other things.
She says the Center keeps ticket prices as low as possible, since they are a non-profit. Community support helps the Center make ends meet.
The celebration takes place Thursday at the Center for the Arts in Grass Valley from 6 to 10 p.m. The Center for the Arts also hosts the California World Fest at the Nevada County Fairgrounds July 16 through the 19. For more information on the party or Center events, go online.
