The Grass Valley man arrested for shooting another man during Memorial Day weekend has made is first appearance in a Nevada County courtroom. 52-year-old Darryl Skelton is a convicted felon with an extensive criminal record. He was originally booked by the Sheriff’s Department for assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury and being a felon in possession of a gun. The Sheriff’s Department described the victim’s injuries as significant, but he was last reported to be in stable condition. They described his relationship with Skelton only as acquaintances. A motive for the shooting has not been revealed.
