Grass Valley Police made an arrest based on activity that occurred on December 12. Sgt Steve Johnson says the the suspect, Robert Ball had originally tried to cash an altered check at a local check cashing store.

The clerk went to call the district to verify the check and Mr. Ball fled the building. The officer assigned to the crime began to track Ball and learned that he had outstanding warrants in Concord  CA for commercial burglary and Siskiyou County for DUI and providing false ID. The check was apparently stolen out of the South Yuba Club mailbox earlier in the month

Ball was taken into custody for the warrants, the check theft, the forgery, and possession of suspected methamphetamine.
